I can always trade ....having trouble thinking about what to trade into. Was thinking a M3 w/competition or G37 since I have a kid coming in the Fall and it'd be smart to save some cash. I know they're step downs, but still fun.

I would rather keep the 997 if there is no more issue coming out.
And if you have money later, fix it up.

RMS may dry out if the car is not driven as the seal depends on the existence of a thin film of oil between the seal and the engine.

What does a typical warranty cost? I've heard a number of pros/cons...

I've been kicking the idea of a competition M3 or G37 since we have a kid on the way and the extra cash would be nice. I know it's a downgrade, but I'll be back in a porsche soon enough . We'll see....

Who knows, maybe my car will be fine now. The PSM failure only went off once since the tire issue was fixed. Dealership fixed all the little things except the dash rattle which I've assumed is just part of porsche driving. The RMS concerns me, since I only drive the car 6k miles a year, but dealership assures me it's ok. The radio not working every once in a while is annoying, but it's always comes back after turning the car off for a while.

The issues are far from painful....but who knows once that warranty's gone!
