Problems after GT3 seat install

Have installed the 996 GT3 bucket seats in my 997 S. The dealer disengaged the seat airbags with PIWIS to avvoid airbag light. Now afterr some time my sport button doesn't work anymore.

The dealer thinks the solution is to install the 997 GT3 Clubsport airbag module, because this one is possible to choose have which airbags which are in use. Opposite to the stock which is locked and not programable.

I have seen a lot of others doing this mod without hearing about any problems. People who has installed says that they can disengage the seat airbags. My problem is not mentioned in any DIY either.

Does sombody have a solution, which the dealer don't know?

Sound more like you have a faulty sport/controller button .. try re-enabling the airbags and seeing if it works; otherwise you would be replacing the wrong part.

Have you had any other issues?

I had a problem last year where I lost a number of electrical components (including wipers, PASM, trip computer) Turns out that my car had a brown out and they reset a number of internal computers (apparently there is 7 computers in a 997) and then recharged the battery...problem solved.

I also thought the same, so I replaced the whole sport/wing/PASM/PSM module without succsess.

I will ask my dealer to enable the airbags again to see, but I can't understand how/why this should affect the sport button function....
