S tips on a non S

I just bought some AWE tips which are designed to fit the S mufflers but I have a 3.6. I heard something about a sleeve from pep boys? Anyone know the size, also do i need to have the sleeve welded to the muffler or does it just get tightened down when i tighten the tips?

I have done this before,S tips to non S muffler, by adding a 2.25" piece of stainless tubing @ 1 1/4" long, and welding it to the exit pipe. You should use stainless and weld it with stainless.
