How do you power your Radar Detector?

I have a short “phone-kind-of-cord” that plugs into the back of my rear view mirror and into my V-1 in my other cars. Two prongs into the mirror power, the “phone/computer” plug to the detector. I attach the V-1 at the top of the windshield.
My 997 doesn’t have power in the mirror. I’m sure I can get into the overhead light console.
What do you guys do?
Do you all buy a specific cord?
I’m still searching the MANY threads on here…
THANKS

I connected my V1 to switched power in the fuse box.

Do a search on 'valentine install' on this forum and Rennnlist.com and you'll find plenty of tips and hints.

I hardwired my V1 to the overhead console per the following link:

http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...ferrerid=42028

The instructions are clear and the results are perfect.

Good Luck!

I use a longer phone cord, fish it into the passenger side windshield edge, fish down the side of the glove box, and plug into power outlet behind and beneath the glovebox.

Same here, but be very careful when pressing the wire into the headliner and a-pillar, you can tear or scratch the leather easily.

You can find the hard wire cords on ebay pretty cheap, but my Valentine came with one.
