C4S Wheel Spacers, What Size?
C4S Wheel Spacers, What Size?
I'm confused here. I'm receiving conflicting advice.
To have the Carerra Classic wheels on the C4S flush with the car body, do I need 15 mm or 7 mm spacers?
Thanks for your help,
Dan

I have 15mm in rear and 7mm in front on my C2S, seems to be the right combination. Contact Damon@tirerack.com for a set.
I started with 15 in the back, then to 7, then back to 15, now back to seven again... I still can't decide. It seems when the 15's are on, it looks a bit like a muscle car; sticks out just a hair ( I have the lobsters) . I dunno, when I get my Misha GTM wing on, and the RS front installed this weekend, the 15's will probably look much better.
I am lowered, but I don't think that it will look any more like an SUV, then it does now.

^^ x 2; i'm running the exact same set up here.....w/ stock turbo twists....
The Porsche 17mm spacers use lug nuts to attach the wheel so if you don't mind nuts on the rear and bolts on the front use the Porsche. You can get 15mm spacers from FVD (and others) that use lug bolts.
Two questions for you guys.
1. How much unsprung weight do these spacers add?
2. Does the Carrera Sport wheel already have 5mm extra width to begin with? I think they are 8.5 and 11.5 as compared to 8 and 11 for the others.

1) They do add additonal unsprung weight - don't know how much.
2) OEM F 8x19 et 57mm versus Carrera Sport at 8.5x19 et 55 - extend out 8mm further than OEM. OEM R 11x19 et 51mm versus Carrera Sport at 11.5x19 et 67mm PLUS 17mm spacer - extend out 7mm further than OEM.

Ok. I am really confused. I have been following along and now I am screwed up. I have the 19" classic carrera option on a 2006 c4s cab. What is the Porsche recommended spacer option in mm widths? Please help. If I lower the car later, will this rub?
I'm not sure Porsche recommends anything...but they do offer a 5mm spacer as an option on the C4 and through the parts department. The 17mm spacer offered by Porsche is for fitting wheels with narrowbody (C2) offsets on widebody (C4) cars. Many use different width spacers from other vendors to push wheels out further than stock. I can tell you from experience, you'll be hard pressed to tell the difference between stock and an extra 5mm. Here's the page from the 2006 C4 ordering guide showing the option.
