Question Stock wheel offset question

What are wheel offsets for stock narrow body wheels? I am assuming all the stock wheels Porsche offers have the same offset, is this correct? Essentially what I want to know is if I will be ok placing a 305mm width tire on an 11.0 inch width wheel that has 55mm of offset on my narrow body 997.

Thanks!

Check with the Wheel Enhancement folks. They deal with these things and know what works. The standard 8" and 11" rims are 57mm and 67mm offsets. The 8.5" and 11.5" rims (Carrera Sport for one) are a little different offset due to the extra width. I think they are 55mm and 61?

A 55mm offset for a rear wheel on narrow body is not enough (it is closer to a wide body offset which is 51mm), so the wheels will stick out 12mm beyond stock wheel. And putting a 305 tire will bring the tire out a little further than a 295.

If Ken's math is correct (I am sure it is) then you should be OK, as I run 15mm Spacers on the rear and I am fine. the 305 tire will be fine on the wheel.

Ken, so you are saying that the 55mm offset in the rear will be a problem on a narrow body. I want to buy some wheels that are advertised as narrow body wheels but have a 55mm rear offset. They are the Rennworx wheels seen in the for sale section here: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...light=rennworx

Stock setup on a 997 C2S, with lobster forks:

Front: 8x19, tires 235/35/19, offset is 57
Rear: 11x19, tires 295/30/19, offset is 67

They will not likely be a problem, because with the rear wheels you don't need to worry about steering geometry, and many folks prefer wheels filling out the wheel well more. So the 12 mm reduced offset will bring your tires closer to the edge of your fenders. (Ed, NorthVan997C2S has pushed his rear wheels out by 15mm and is apparently ok). Again, the folks at Wheel Enhancement have suggestions about how much leeway is recommended for offsets.
