Hi Guys There is a 997 currently for sale at local porsche dealership I checked out its vin WP0AA29915S717341 the carfax is clean except under factory recall, it says recall reported under Manufacturer Recall Check my question is that does that consider a bad mark on carfax report or does it effect its value or it doesn't really matter.

 

A recall notice on carfax will not effect value. Just make sure that the recall was actually performed. The dealer should be able to tell you that. If it hasn't, I am sure the dealer would be happy to do it for you. John

The recall was for muffler ornamental tips with a manufacturing problem. Absolutely no influence on car price.

 

Yep, recall data on Carfax reports is just informational and won't affect the value. Since recalls are covered for free it does help to know about them to make sure they have been done.
