Anyone trying to save a little gas?
My C2S Cab is a daily driver. It is 16 miles one way to work, 14 of them on the freeway. Gas is pushing $4.70 a gallon here in L.A. I try to get into 6th as soon as possible when I get on the freeway, and I am (gulp!) driving a little slower. I'm averaging about 20.5 miles per gallon.

It's $4.60 here and I spent $65 to fill up my tank yesterday. I don't really change my driving style to accomodate on saving gas. I think the only way is not driving and take public transportation.
None of our cars is really a daily driver since we are less than 2 miles from our offices. However, our BMW would be somewhat.
I just replaced the tires with PS2's. With cruise set at 62 mph I get 34 mpg on the freeway! I let every one else wiz buy! I want fuel mileage. I don't need to be first to my destination.
Besides, you need to conserve to pay to get those rock chips out!!!

I get over 30mpg in my 5 series on the hwy and 20 around town. That would be my attempt to save gas. This does suck, but still a lot better than some parts of the world. ( and worse than others )
heck no. if I were to worry about gas price, I'd get a compact car. I'm more concern about gas price's effect on overall economy.
The gas price increase is less than most costs associated with owning a car.

Sorta fun to think of the Porsche as the fuel efficient ride, but it certainly is in comparison to our pig-at-the-trough Denali.
That and less trips - trying to consolidate trips so we're not sending one car at a time all over town.
Little things can make pretty large difference.

Bingo. Unless you have a long commute, the gas cost is somewhat insignificant to the costs of depreciation, tires, and insurance.
I know we all drive cars in the $100K range, can fill up the tank whenever necessary and push them up to the redline whenever we want. At $65+ a fillup, I'm just trying to do it a little less often.
