Nitro911s is infamous around these parts
i totally agree, ive had both in my car Escort 9500i + V1 for a couple months and the escort worked better, less false alarms, and had better range, especially when catching KA band. Even my Escort 8500 is still in use, seems to have the best range out of any radar ive ever owned.

Sorry, I haven't read this whole string because it is too long. Are you just looking for how to bring switched power from the fuse box to your windshield mounted unit? If so, I can send photos if you PM me with your email address.

If you're not running red lights, then why would it be a key feature?

I live in Chicago, and for 2 decades I have never had a cop or trooper approach me from the rear or sides LOL.

Either you lying you're clueless. I'm betting on the latter. Police pace all the time on the highway. If you're lucky, they're doing it with their radar units on. Your detector just goes beep beep. Mine tells me it's coming from behind. This has come in handy dozens of times.

In fact, the V1 is so worthless in the city I just turn it off because it senses every freaking alarm, garage door, and grocery store. I guess if I ever need a 7Elveven detector I would hook my V1 back up, turn my Nav off and let it do its magic.

If you took five minutes to read the owner's manual and learn a little more about what law enforcement is using in your area, you'd find that you eliminate 90% of the falses by simple adjusting the V1.

The v1 is antiquated at best, which is why everyone has gone to the 9500ix.

Who's everyone? The V1 still has a monster following. Just because you switched doesn't constitute "everyone". I can add speed cameras and red light cameras to my nav unit. I don't have the GPS lockout, then again I don't need it. My V1 rarely falses with it's current setup.

Those who still post about the V1 are too stubborn to try the Escort. Oh and when I drive, I drive 80-100mph in the left lane. My driving habits are not going to change and no one is ever going to come up from behind me.

Sure....Good luck with that.

I have had 2 tickets for speeding in 10 years and both were for 7 mph over the limit.

If you get busted by a trooper in your rearview then you need lessons on how to drive beyond the posted speed limit.

Care to fill us in on your magical driving abilities? I guess you've never seen an unmarked car that does pacing before? Are you sure you're in Chicago or is it BFE?

Like I said, I used the V1 since the day it came out until last month and its a paper weight now. I don't get paid for my posts about V1 or Escort and I can prove to anyone via a nice little video.

Film away. That would be interesting. Hopefully you've at least taken advantage of the periodic updates to make it a fair comparison. I have heard that the Escort does offer slightly better range. However, it's a mute point as they're both so far out, there is plenty of time to slow down.

So who has install instructions?

The radar hardwire in Porsche vehicles has been covered to death. Do a search. There's plenty of info on here. It's as simple as finding a 12v switched source. You'll need a meter. Find the switched source and a ground. IE overhead map lights, etc...
