Best track near San Diego?

I now have about 6 Auto Crosses under my belt with my new 997 S (and High Performance driving classes from BB) and I'm itching to get back on a real track. (The sea of cones are hypnotizing me )

I was thinking of doing the Streets of Willow track, but I have read that many do not like the course and worse it has pot holes and burns that can be hazardous to your car and safety. (Just things I have read, no first hand knowledge.)

I don't want to drive halfway across the state, but can anyone recommend a good track to run my car at every month or so?

What is your favorite track in So. Cal?

Streets of Willow is ok, but the car never really gets to stretch its legs.

I usually run with SpeedVentures.com. They host track days every month.

There is a Roval (AutoClub Speedway, formerly known as CalSpeedway) event coming up in three weeks. We reach speeds up to 160 on the banking and the infield is pretty fun too. Its only 40 min. east of downtown LA, which is much closer than Willow Springs and/or Button Willow (the other two tracks here in SoCal).

i would just make the trip out to Laguna-Seca. I used to do that drive and its really not that bad. Can take the coast and as long as you dont get stuck behind a truck, it could be a fun drive
