New 08 C2S clutch question...

Just brought home a new 08 C2S last night. Been driving it a bit to get the feel of the car/clutch. I actually stalled the car twice last night driving her home. I noticed that I have to give it a lot more gas to get her not to stall. My rpm ranges from 1300-1800 rpms when letting off the clutch. But most of the time the start off is a little rough.

I like to find out if this is indicative of the new new clutch and requires some break-in before it will start to smooth off or if this is just the way Porsche's drive. I come from a BMW background and my Z4 M Roadster doesn't seem to this issue...

Appreciate any input and/or comments. Thanks!

Smile stall

I had same problem when I got my 08 C2S. It takes a little coordination between cluch and accelorator. After about one week i got coordinated and it has not happened again.

Cool, I guess I need to relearn how to drive a manual over again . BTW, when you put in your car in reverse, does it feel real kind of rough when lifting off the clutch???

Impatient, 5 hours on a Sunday is not unusual for slow activity on the forum.

I have an 06 and I have no problem with my clutch, i can start my car at 1000 rpm. Yours sounds high for start ups.

After 2 months and 2000 miles I am still stalling mine at times. Normally when I just get to the friction point without giving it any gas (this seemed to be fine with every other manual car I have owned. Pretty embarrassing when my 9 yr old says "you stalled it again dad"

Haha hes prob like Dad move over Ill show you how to drive. My 996 clutch is WAY different than my 997. 996 was really heavy as this one is very soft and high release point. Ive stalled once myself. Idk but like the 997 feel better.

It's all coordination. Once you have the hang-of-it normal launches can be done at 800RPM.

Ive had my 08 C2S 3 months and I have no problems with stalling. My shifts are smoother than tip.
