Winter Mats? Which To Buy?

i plan on driving my C4 this winter & the Tan mats will be trashed,
i need a really good set of rubber winter mats

My local dealer has a set of "2" Mats (Driver & Passenger) for $84 but he did not have them nor did he know what they looked like,

what should i go with? & what color would yous go with Tan or Black?

I bought the weathertech mats, fronts only, in black for my cocoa interior. They look good and do the job of keeping dirt, water, debris off of the carpet. John

The local dealer here, that is, the parts dept, showed me some rubber Porsche branded mats they had in stock for the 997. They don't have the deep water storage capacity, of say my VW rubber floor mats, but they are rubber and have channels in them to capture water... keeps the dirt off the carpet and provides traction. If you were stomping around in heavy snow, I'm not sure they would do the trick, but for rain and light snow, they should do well.

I bought the OEM mats [front only available] and they're fine.

What's snow?

Larry - My preference would be black - since anything tan or light colors shows dirt too easily...which is more prevalent in the winter months. I do like tan interior, but the upkeep is too much for me.

I'd suggest tan if they salt the roads in your area. I've had both black and tan weathertech winter mats and the salt stains on black stand out (versus the tan) until they are really well cleaned.

Go with the Porsche rubber mats. Under $ 70 bucks at a couple of the sight sponsers, fit perfectly and have the velcro fastener system like the OEM carpet mats so they won't move on you. They make them for the BOSE system equiped cars also.

I saw them at the dealer. From what I remember, and compared to the mats in my VW Golf, the Porsche ones are black rubber, but do not have the water holding capacity of the VW ones. The Porsche ones are more solid rubber with a few grooves in it to contain liquid, rather than a large grid of squares with larger liquid capacity as the VW mats have. I'll be going by my dealership this week to pick up the rubber mats for my coming car (not much deep snow in Seattle) and can post pics then. Give me a few days.

i went with these from mats.com http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvp...tChoiceIds=703

they seem to hold the most amount of water, i really wanted the liners but they dont make them for bose eqt cars.
