Jeremy, am I reading this right? You got that much increase just by removing one out of the 3 mufflers? That is amazing. Clearly, that is nothing like the 08 Carrera gains where you gained about this much HP and Torque only after changing cats, headers and mufflers.

The site shows another dyno graph with the secondary muffler delete pipe that seems to have even better results than the primary muffler delete pipe. What happens if you do both? Any back pressure issues similar to 2008 Carrera?

If you change out the headers, cats, above pipes, software and CAI, you're looking at gains of at least 45HP PEAK at the wheels, which is much greater than 08.

Thanks

Those are amazing gains! I currently have Fabspeed mufflers on my 06 Carrera S (install courtesy of Sharkwerks!), but the gains on the new '09 DFI are incredible!

Post up the vid soon so we can have a listen! Hopefully it will sound a lot better than the stock version and very close to the previous Fabspeed exhausts for the 05-08 Carreras!

Here is some more info to keep you busy in the meantime. We also did an Air Intake Upgrade for the car which made some nice power as well.

I do not want to share to much information of what we have found while developing products for the new 2009 997 yet, but I will tell you that the car needs an ECU tune to optimize performance with all components installed. We are in the process of tuning the car with the full exhaust and our intake to see what kind of numbers we get out of it. While developing products for the new car we took the exhaust to get an x-ray done on the mufflers to see what was going on inside before we changed anything.

The side muffler bypass pipes made an even bigger increase in power in the lower RPM range.

Love the look of that intake. Can I install it on my 996 C2?

Great job! The esthetics of the intake are awesome.

Just a heads up, your markings showing torque and horsepower increases are wrong. The one where you've marked torque increases is actually the curve for horsepower and the one marked with hp increases is actually on the torque curve, which is why the numbers don't match up with the lines.

I caught that at the last second after I already made the post. Our web guy is not a car guy and mixed up the hp and tq contact points. I appoligize for the mix up, but it is in the process of getting corrected.

Thanks for sharing the vid! The bypass sounds pretty good, and you can finally hear the engine breath again!
