Exterior
Just needs clear side markers!
Interior
Mixed emotions. Not very Sporty door panels. Sport Seats were ok. A Shift **** option would be nice. Is there one? I didn't like the one in this car. I guess I could get used to the interior after awhile, especially a Turbo version! No test drives offered, and I didn't ask since I had other plans to attend. Here's the pics....Enjoy

that 2nd picture makes the car look totally like a stretched out VW Beetle. but the side shot and the rear 3/4 shot make the car look hot...not a fan of the slanted rear lights....
hmmph, me want Gallardo

Thanks for the nice pics , Mark. Porsche spec'd all the early delivery cars . Seems EVERY dealer got a " $99K " special - a 997S with the same $20K of PCCB/full leather/Adaptive seats, etc .options . Probably to impress the customers at the unveilings . Overall, the interior looks better than in pics , but ...
Gotta get the full leather for the leather aroma alone. The base interior car smelled like a Corolla .
Moving the window buttons away from the rear center console left a very bland looking flat non-styled area . The full leather package should have included some stitching along there.
At least all the painted plastic around the gauges, HVAC/PCM areas is a textured grey , so it is not trying to look like aluminum .
Latch on the cup holder panel is very flimsy - it felt like it was breaking already .
I don't understand why the sport steering wheel doesn't have PCM controls, since the three aluminum -look dummy buttons are set up to incorporate it. Logic would say the " sporty" driver is the one who should least takes his hands off the wheel to change the radio or CD selection or adjust volume.
The wheels look a bit overstyled, but better than in pics ( or maybe the eye candy PCCB set up make any wheel look good ) where they reminded me so much of my '97 Vette wheels.

I went to the Reeves (Tampa) intro party today. Black S with PCCB and full leather in the showroom. Seal Grey Carrera for test drives. I drove the SG Carrera and was very impressed by the power, sound, ride, and interior. However, full leather really makes the interior of this car, as the Carrera did not have full leather. The chrono package was rather straightforward to use.
Immediately after driving the 997, I drove a 996 Turbo Cab, and, of course, there is nothing like the power of a Turbo.
Sorry, but no pics--I was too overwhelmed by the black S. Thanks to Reeves.
