Question about Spare on Rear of 997

I just bought a Boxster spare and jack for my 997.

I checked and it fits just fine although the height of the spare is about an inch shorter than the 19 in wheel/tires I have on the car.

Here's the question:

If I get a REAR flat, would it be better to put the regular front tire on the back and the spare on the front?

I would think the drive wheels spinning at different speeds might not be such a good thing.

Thanks gentlemen.

Don't most people buy the 996 spare?

That would have been nice. But this works for $200 vs $700.

If you work out the numbers, the height of a stock rear tire is around 26 inches. One revolution is about 82 inches of travel. With one inch less height, the car travels about 79 inches. This difference is accommodated by the transaxle. Its like you are constantly going around a turn.

If you must use this spare, keep the speed down and don't go too far. Putting the spare on the front may save you problems. A better choice is too sell it on ebay and buy the right spare.
