Angry 06 997 s RMS

Just had my 06 997S(sept 05 build) 18 k miles pre DE tech inspection ,mech noted very slight weeping RMS leak, no oil spot on floor after 24 hrs back in garage ,I guess these things keep showing up ,I plan to take to dealer and request repair (still under warranty) I heard rumor dealer will try to put off due to slight leak ,any similar problems . "really bummed out "

It is very common to have the RMS leak a little. Porsche has a "diaper" below it to catch the little bit of oil that comes out. I just had my LSD and LWFW installed and the Indy that did the work replaced it when it was put back together. The part was only about $26 cdn, not sure what the labour cost was, as they were in there anyway.

I had my RMS replaced about 6 mos. ago. No problem since then. You would think that Porsche would have created a better seal by now.

Was it a warranty [paid for] repair?

My 2005 997 with 48,000 miles had a wettness at the RMS area. Did not drip oil. Just an oil smudge. Dealer replaced the RMS under warranty- no questions asked. They need the income by billing Porsche.
