Key/alarm light on

Bought 2005 C2S cabriolet few days ago. The red light in the center of the dash (the one on the key symbol that flashes when the alarm is set) comes on whenever I drive the car. Doesn't come on when I start the car, but rather comes on as soon as I start moving.

I do not have the owners manual yet and was hoping someone could tell me if that is normal or if I need to do something about it. Is it just telling me the doors are locked when I drive?

Thanks in advance for any help.

i think your car is set to auto lock the doors when you drive away. do you have pcm? i believe you can set or unset that in you pcm.

well... it didn't take long to find out that i do not have this feature. the 'individual memory' is grayed out in the menus. it's an option. think i'll ask to enable it next time i visit the dealer.

It's something the dealer has to set. Sounds like yours has it set on like mine does. I had it set when I bought the car, took 5 minutes.

If so you'll need to pull the interior door handle twice to open the door from. First time to unlock, second to open. BMW's are the same.
