Welcome to the madness!

First thing is don't do anything to your car for a long while. When you change something, you've again reset the "baseline". Learn your car. That being said, I would do the following ASAP - before going to the track again:

1) Change the brake fluid. Porsche is fine as it's equal to ATE 200 (which is same as Blue but without the annoying dye).

2. Have a local Porsche shop align your car as best they can. You should be able to get -0.80 degrees of camber up front. 997s are notorious for having terrible alignments from the factory. May not notice on the street, but on the track you will and your tires will pay the price.

That's all you need for now...

Congrats on discovering one of the greatest joy you can have with your car!

I went to two track events last year and will go to a PCA track event in couple of weeks here in Las Vegas. Enjoyment of driving the car gets better and better as I imporve my driving skills.

NorthVan997c2s, it's mid-60s here and sunny

Are you going to Pahrump (spring mountain) in February? If that's the event, do you know if they are running the full track or the old spring mountain shorter one?

Track Days = Crack once you start you will constantly think about the next one. Priorities start to change, you become **** retentive about changing out your fluids. Tires become a regular purchase. Your garage ends up having multiple sets of wheels. Oh a very slippery slope that will leave your wallet a little lighter but provide you the biggest smile and experience that's worth every penny.

Yes, going to Spring Mtn in Pahrump and will run the 3.1 mile setup, which is the full track.

i know what you mean. did my first de last april, ended up doing 20 before the season ended! its funny how things like tires and brakes start to wear out real fast as you get better. this coming season will be expensive!
