why is the 997 much smaller?
hi there guys
i went to see the new 997 i LIKED it but i wouldnt trade in my car yet (4s) i FELT that the car much much smaller and didnt feel as comfy as the 996 but the build q is MUCH better...its a much better build car...also the prices are much higher and the option prices also increased i think i will wait till the 2nd year of the TT.. that will make a better car and will give them time to sort out all the problems and also the allow prices to go down

There are a few things that make it feel smaller (which I noticed when I first sat in it). One, the seats are lower. You have to raise the seat about an inch to bring it up to the same level as the 996 seat. That makes the dash seem really tall. Second, the door arm rests are a little narrower. Finally, the side bolsters on the seats (I have adaptive sport seats) encase you more than the 996. All this makes the cockpit feel "tighter".
I can understand waiting until the next model year, but don't deprive yourself too long!

You got to be kidding....
I thoroughly compared a 997S to my 2003 C4S. The build quality on my C4S is much higher than the 997S introduction car-in my opinion the interior of the 997S looks and feels cheap compared to the 996 C4S leather interior. My wife commented there is so much shiney stuff in the 977 interior that she would be concerned it would attract the neighborhood crows!
