This is an 07 Midnight Blue Metallic Porsche Carrera S. This is one of the richer, more complex colors I've ever worked with. Upon first seeing the car, I noticed the extremely dull paint alongside moderate swirling on every single panel. After polishing, the paint burst to life, revealing a deep metallic blue with hints of lavender.

I never got why detailers tape of a section of a panel, don't you risk to either miss a small section being taped off twice or either being polished twice.

After getting a new 997.2, how long should you wait before detailing it? Does the paint have to "cure"?
I have heard of cars being detailed, similar to what you do, at the dealer before delivery.

Thank you for the very kind words everyone!
Sounds good, looking forward to hearing from you!
I do it to show the contrast between the original paint and what I'm capable of doing with a polisher. I don't run any risks mainly because I tape very accurately whenever I polish.
Rotary, orange and white pads, and all Menzerna polishes like SIP.
It's safe to clay bar the car when the car is delivered, but I would wait three months or so with any new car before polishing the paint. If you polish too soon, you'll burn right through the clear coat.
