Hi,

Has anyone heard of Fidelity Warranty Services Inc, Extended warranty or have any experience with them? I live in the OC and 6 out of 8 dealers here swear by them and I see alot of people use EasyCare but most dealers I talked to either never heard of Easycare or say Fidelity actually covers more than Easy Care and are easier to deal with for coverage. The closest dealer to me swears by EasyCare but they are quite a bit more. I'd like to pull the trigger on the Fidelity Warranty but wanted to see if anyone had experience with them at all or has any recommendations against them.

Do you really need one? Before you spend the money, maybe you should do a PPI on your own car.

 

Warranties are like parachutes, you do not need one until you really need one and PPI is not going to predict what could happen 1-3 years from now.

Yeah, I'd like to hear people's experience with extended warranty too. Let's just say we have decided to get one. The question now is which one actually pays out for repair without the run around.

I am going to stick with the big names like Fidelity or EasyCare. I am going to talk to a few service departments and a certified Porsche Independant shop tomorrow and get their feedback before deciding. Seems like EasyCare and Fidelity are the two names that all the dealers are mostly using. I checked BBB and Fidelity (the one most Porsche dealers are using) got a F- and Easy Care got a B- and is a BBB member. I just don't understand how how so many Porsche dealers recommend them if the don't provide coverage. So does anyone have any personal experience or feedback with Fidelity?

The question that should be asked is : does the dealer get any money from Fidelity (are they selling policies?), or does Fidelity make it easier for the dealer but harder for the customer. Fidelity could be paying out as the policy states but is giving a few policy holders real grief at getting valid claims paid. It could also be (to be fair) that Fidelity has a group of people who purchased policies, that tried to get invalid claims through. Its hard to know without reading the data that went into a determination of the grade they received.
