09 engine problem!!!
yes it is the high pressure pump, yes i think don't need to drop the engine to replace this pump but you ned to drop exaust
this pump create a 40 to 120 psi pressure in the too ramp to the injectors
this have a maximal debit of 180litre per hours a 120 PSI
this pump have a regulator built in and a thermal compenssator
this pump have high pressure bypass security
there a two pressure indicator built on each ramp by cylinder bank
i'am so sorry for my english,i can explain more in fench,i wish you undertand what i write
i' have a lot of more info about this engine

sorry ,for this mistake, exact is bar but i would translate in US mesure
Right. That's 40-120 Bar or 580-1740 PSI, an extremely high pressure.
My '09S with 3000 miles dies when starting immediately after I let go of the ignition key every 3rd or 4th time only when then engine is cold. I suspect it may have to do with DFI system pressurization. Also, I have noted on several occasions surging immediately after driving off in cold car in first gear.
How can one say this is Normal ! even a cheap $10,000 car will start with 1 turn on the ignition !
A Dias -Thanks for asking. No, probably this week - if things slow down at work. Will keep y'all informed.
Got the car back
The dealer had the car for 5 days while we waited for the part to come in from Germany. It's fixed now and they said it was just a faulty fuel pump, first one they've seen. I hope that doesn't happen again.
They took it away on a flat bed today and determined it is the fuel pump. I should have it back Tuesday and will report back if that is the final cure. I bet it is, because it has taken longer than it should to start. The loaner Cayman S I have turns over immediately. Thanks for all your feedback.
The Cayman S was great.. Light, rigid, quick and so neutral, but not a 911. The 997.2 feels so much more substantial, so much faster and the PDK is so much better than the tiptronic!!!
