It seems our favorite designer has finally been shown the door at BMW.

The new head guy at BMW is a German and he is responsible for the next Z4- which I think is a big improvement than Bangles last Z4-

Much to my surprise there is a very loyal Bangle herd of attention defict consumers two/three year leasing the ugliest BMW's of all time (IMO) . I post on a BMW forum and many there agree with me on this but there are others who tout Mr B as a design genius .
Amazing. I just can't get over the bizarre 5 series. The seven grew on me a bit, but in the end both the 5 and 7 had very unattractive interiors. This unfortunately, made it to the new M3, though I think the Carbon Leather option real makes it look sharp. Oh well... hopefully this is goodbye to the bangle butt and the flame shaped hood!

VMM- I just posted on the BMW forum saying farewell to the Bangle design butt. Im also like the carbon leather (I have it) . The new M3 actually has nice seats, stereo, and trim . I am not crazy for the dash (Bangled) and detest I drive .
It's has a smaller Bangled butt and less flamed front but yet there are some bangle overtones in this car .
I saw a nicely modded one the other day though while jogging . A catless exhaust on the M3 sounds ferocious and gnarly . I am not really sure of my gf would like it . She might , I am so busy on the current 997tt project I can't mod two at the same time . Too stressful , too expensive.

Bangle did shake things up and helped BMW to overtake Mercedes- although I did not care for all his designs-

I stopped buying BMW's because of Bangle after 15 years..... However, BMW engineering was to blame as well. The 5 series has no feedback at all......It is like a simulator.... The new runflat really hurt the ride... The X6 is I don't know what? The DCT is not properly engineered....
Got that right. The massive number of posts on the boards about problems with the BMW DCT really helped me make my decision not to get a MY 2009 M3 coupe. There were just too many stories about it failing to shift at the right time, or slowness in getting to certain gears in some situtations. Some posters even described highly dangerous situations in which the M3 DCT didn't act as it was expected to. One guy even got the dealership to buy back his car b/c of the DCT problems.
I know that software was supposed to have the first set of DCT complaints, but those who got the software posted about new problems with that.
On top of that, there was the new engine and people were posting about all sorts of strange rattling noises and the like it would make. So rather than an all new transmission and new engine, I'd rather go with an engine and manual trannym, both well-proven since the 997 model launch.

let's just say that his design is different, no better or worse than others, but different.
I like the 5 series design so I bought one. But who am I to comment about design when I think the Cayenne looks good in contrast to everyone else.

The E30 and E36 made me a die hard BMW fan. Along comes Bangle and for me took away the quiet, muscular and dignified look to a more flashy (arguably ugly in my opinion) look. This in combination with escalating weight and size of their cars, loss of LSD in non M models and increasingly isolation from the driving experience drove me away from BMW.
Who knows, maybe they'll go back to their roots a bit,
