C4S out, R8 in!
I have follow you guys for a year and I have learn a lot about Porsche. I ran into a R8 (-09) with all extra for a "good" price so my C4S must go. I must say I dont regret it. But I will be back!

I haven't driven an R8, however I have shared the track with a few and they are very fast cars. From what I hear from the owners they are very easy to drive and they are missing the fun to drive part that the Porsche has.
Enjoy the car.

They say, it's good but not great. They say it's more like a GT car than a sportscar. Check out their comments on page 29.
Made me glad I have a C2S.

My car before my C4S was SL55 AMG and in many ways it was a perfect daily driver but I wanted a real sportcar. Maybe the Porsche was a litte to much sportcar for me. I live in Stockholm with heavy traffic and drive my care every day if the weather is ok. My left leg is now twise as big as the right one beacuse the hevy clutch in te traffic jam
I think for the track the Porsche give you more back if you are a good driver. If I want to go back to a Carrera again, I will choose a PDK.

I'm sure you will get a lot of pleasure out of the R8, even if it isn't as "sporty" as a Porsche. And it sounds like it may be better suited to your situation. To me the R8 is one of the nicest looking cars out there. Good luck with it.

I purchased my R8 in November. It is fun to drive and I cannot imagine "needing" to go faster. With the R-Tronic in manual mode and using the paddle shifters it shifts very fast. In auto mode it is jerky.
