face lifting my 07 carrera S
It amazes me sometimes what dealers will try to pull off. Not all dealers are bad though, I can tell you right now my dealer would tell me not to waste my money. They realize it's better to have a happy customer down the road than just go for the short term gain. Owell not all act the same but that smells fishy to me. don't do it. Your car will always be an 07 no matter what they do to it.
the new 997.2 looks good but not 12k worth good.
trade in and/or mod it.
Also why would warranty be voided, the dealer is doing the work and it's cosmetic.
Sounds like a gang rape without condom. choo chooo train. that's what they are pulling on you.

1. It's a rip-off
2. Voiding of the warranty for replacing a couple of peaces of plastic and glass is an insult. What if, God forbid, you had an accident and needed to change the bumper, would that void your warranty as well?
3. The resale value would be affected (people will think you had an accident and had to change bumpers)
4. Risk of being seen as a wannabe (obviously money is not an issue so why not upgrading to 997.2 instead)
I thought about replacing the front bumper myself (like the new front bumper and LED daytime lights, do not like LED and reflector stripe on the back), but decided not to do it for reasons No 3 and 4.
My honest opinion: Don't do it.

I think this poster is just playing with us... One would just as readily withdraw $12,000 from the bank and burn it on their grill. At least then you'd still have a cohesive 997.1 and the bonus would be you'd still have warranty.
Trade the 997.1 in for a 997.2 and use the $12k wisely that way.
