I saw something that might fit what you guys want on a RUF 997. It might cost an arm and a leg, but it foes look nice... I'll try to find the site and post it here...

On a 997.1 there is no simple "plug and play" to get the LED strips you see on the TT's and the 997.2's. Techart sells a kit with the harness for about a grand, that look great, but at a G, that's a lot.

What you can do is install either Hoen Xenonmatch H8's, which are supposed to be the whiter light to match your Porsche litronics, or the Heon H8 Endurance bulbs, which are a pure yellow (not orange) as seen in the ALMS series headlights.

I just ordered a set of each, and will post pics when I install an H8 xenonmatch on one side, and an H8 endurance on the other- assuming they arrive at the same time. While at it, I ordered a set of their license plate lights, too, and I'll post before and afters there, naturally.

I know you are asking if and how, but I'll ask back "why?". You don't use fogs unless it's pea-soup foggy out. You are the driver, so you never see what the front of your car looks like when you are driving and do you care what the guy driving head on thinks if it's foggy and you have your fogs on? I've had both an 07 C2S and now an 09 C2S. Couldn't care less about fogs, LEDs, different bulbs, etc.

I just added a Porsche OEM SSK (Huntington had them on special for $299). Now that's a great mod that I am enjoying. To each his own of course, so if this is really bothering you I'd suggest picking up the whiter bulbs as suggested above. The 997.2 LEDs were designed for the 997.2 and it's bumper skin, etc. Probably not an easy swap.

Fog lights are great in the tunnel. You see potholes much better with them but you do not need primary low beams to be on.

You were lucky to get that SSK for $299, it seemed to be one time only deal.
