Option Code CDZ - Need Help!

The "Gear Shift Trim in Leather", option code CDZ, (circled below showing regular stitching) is a Porsche Exclusive Option so it can only be ordered in connection with a factory build order or as a "replacement" from Porsche AG through a dealer accompanied by the VIN of a 997 that was originally built with the option. I would like to order this as a replacement and am looking for the VIN of a 2007 or 2008 997 that was delivered w/this option in black leather with white deviating stitching. Would appreciate any help.

Lloyd,

I am assuming that your RS didn't come with it, any chance that you could order one with Black leather and Black stitching, and take it to an upholstery shop and get it re-stitched with while thread?

Ed, as I'm not sure how these pieces are constructed (likely stitched then glued to the plastic under-frame) it could be a mess or worse to take one apart. From another thread I learned the CDZ option is about $400 when ordered as a replacement and takes several weeks to get (they are made one at a time special order) so I'd much prefer to get one from Porsche ready to install. Nope, mine didn't come with one originally.

At $400, you wonder why Porsche would be so picky about this being an exclusive option. I think that if someone wants it, give them the price, and tell them how long, and the rest is up to the buyer.

Good Luck with the search.
