DIY brake pad change

I'm trying to find a post I saw while back on DIY brake pad change for 997, but I can't seem to find it. If anyone can direct me to the post or paste the link to this thread, I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, I plan on tracking the car about 10 to 12 days this year, but I figured OEM brake pads should be sufficient for my driving. If you think other wise please let me know.

Thanks

To change pads is very easy on the 9967997. Do remember to always have a set of brake pad sensor when changing because these usally get broken when changing pads.

Check this link. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=7065

It depends how hard you drive on track, but I advice you to change brake fluid to Castrol SRF. You could also consider Pagid yellow or PFC compound 97 which are good pads for both street and track. With this you shouldn't have any problem with fading and long pedal.

do you have to change out the rotors when changing pads?

I've read that you need to replace the sensors, but do you need a new vibration dampers and pad repair kit?

Yes the sensors are very fragile. If you change very often it could be a idea to cut the sensors itself and mak a loop of the wires. With this you don't get any warningslights in the panel, but you have to check the pads frequently.

You don't have to change vibraton dampers everytime. Have a look at them everytime you change.
