I Drove the PDK with the Sport Chrono Plus on the Track.....thats when I was converted.....
I did do a lot of research. I read every magazine both Europeand and North American ....spent days on the web and drove PDK and the manual many times in different situations ......the PDK really was quite amazing.
The quick launch and blistering shifts really sold me. I know it might not be everyone's cup of tea but the car really performs. I talked to people from Evolution Motor Sports and Sharkwerks........ these guys stated they were very impressed with the PDK performance. ...there are benefits absolutely to the manual but the PDK swept me away...
i have had 8 porsches including one tip which I was disappointed in......I would agree with you with the tiptronic......but this is not your dad's tip....

sorry got carried away..
..meant 6 speed manual....PDK..has the 7 gears ..will edit ...thanks...its funny how many times i've had to justify switching to PDK...........
