What methods do you guys use? I have been to Porsche's pre-owned search, ebay and auto trader and of course local dealers. Are there any other good resources?

 

You have pretty much exhausted the sources!
I would be inclined to buy from a 6speed member,one that is active here.
I would trust a long time poster over the autotrader or car lot any day of the week.
You may pay a bit more(6 speed) BUT....
You can learn about the person and car by searching their posts.
Maybe find out if it is a track car,garage queen,etc...
At least you can possibly become familiar with the way the have treated their car.
Use me for an example(not that my car is for sale):
-you will find out that my car is predominately a garage queen
-long trips,it gets trailered to its destination
-doesn't see weather other than sunshine
-TONS of mods,including supercharger
-never raced and never gonna see the track
-driven only 2,000 miles last year
-I enjoy working on it(mods),rather than driving it!

I could go on and on about details about me and my car(all from posts).
Go look in the for sale section here and do a search on the person's posts.....
If he/she has alot of posts start reading.You will be surprised what you will read.
I just don't see an active member of 6 speed mis-representing his or her car!

Stacy, I read your supercharger install thread a few weeks ago - awesome! (BTW, did you ever post up some videos?) Thanks for the reply!

 

I posted one on you tube but it wasn't very good!My camera guy had a hard time holding the camera steady.
Also the weather here is raining and the roads still have winter grime on them....Late spring this year!
I will posts vids as soon as the conditions improve.....
