Fabspeed header installation? Help!

Guys,

I need some help with the installation of Fabspeed header on a 997S.

1. Do you have to unistall other pieces to be able to uninstall the factory header and install the Fabspeed header?

3. What torque to apply to adjust the header?

How long should it take?

Thanks

Aside from the OEM header, you don't have to remove any other exhaust pieces.

Just installed the X51 headers this weekend on my back under the car. Took me 90 minutes total R&R.

Would be helpful if you sprayed the bolts with PB Blaster to loosen any rust on the cat flanges.

What year is your 997 ? The 05 has pressed threaded studs thru the cat flanges. Be careful when removing the 3 nuts off these studs.....if you snap a stud, you are fuc**d. Just take your time.

Tighten the header bolts to 17 ft/lbs.

You'll need to get it drilled out.

Let me preface my 05S was an early production model and uses Gillett Cats...not sure if any MY production changes eliminated the pressed studs in the cat flanges to removable bolts......

My MY 06 (and I believe the same to be up until the MY 08) had removable bolts. It is recommended that you replace the gaskets and bolts. These items can be purchased through Suncoast and are inexpensive.

I snapped a bolt on removal of the stock, had to flatbed to a local indy for professional removal, was a few hundred $ - turns out mine wasn't a big deal but I sure stressed about it for a few days
