Need help buying a car from the US
Hi guys,
I have purchased 2-3 997 from the US for friends as the prices are much more attractive than in Europe. The cars I have helped purchasing were all bought from dealerships and we didn't have to come physically to check the car or to sign the contracts. The car was inspected by Carchex (a company of Carfax) and we received a detailed 150 points inspection, plus carfax report, plus pictures, etc. Anyways the cars were 1,000-2,000 miles most of the time so they were like brand new. Regarding the contrat, we used to wire the money to the dealership and he will then send us the contract by express mail to sign it and send it back. Then the shipping company would pickup the car at the dealership, put it in a 20' container and we get the car at the port after 4weeks. So basically it's a very easy and safe process.
Though now a friend of mine found a beautiful 997 C4S but owned by a private seller and I basically have no clue how can we do the contract signing by mail? We are worried to send him the money and never receive anything. I knew that the dealership wouldnt vanish with our money as we have tracks of the wire.
