I don't know them but what price they ask is not always what they get.

Heres a cheaper one http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

Here's the difference - I know the white car's former owner and how well he cared for that car . I do not know anything about any other cars and if that 25K of unknown history is the worth the 10K to you buy the car.

If you are looking to buy an 09 -Do you think the asking proce is much less that either of thse Turbo's ?

If you look to buy an 08 leftover do you think that the depreciation after you buy it will not be more than a used Turbo?

If you are on the road and see a Turbo in either the 08 C4S or 09 PDK do you think you could keep up with him ?

BTW both cars -- are near great Tuners . A little software, exhaust, intake , and intercoolers and the car is up another 75Hp (maybe more)

2008s are now 20%+ off MSRP - and that's the initial asking price, without negotiation. how much more are people getting off 08s? what kind of discounts are people getting on 09s now? Its not much longer till the 2010s come in. rough time to be a dealer...

I think this is a bipolar moment. Depending on your financial and ownership plans, you could:
Go with the 09. The 09 is a very big upgrade from the 997.1's. The DFI alone is a huge value as is the PDK, interior odds and ends, some exterior changes as well. Porsche is the master of refinement and they've honed the car yet again. They have significantly evolved the performance and efficiency of the car. Just read what Sharky has to say about his green one. And, though it's too early to tell, I'd bet it will be even more reliable.
Alternative, go with a low- to mid-mileage 05-06. They are solid cars and the discounts are huge. You have a lot to choose from and they seem to age very well. And believe me, they are an absolute hoot to drive. BTW, in both cases, I'm talking an 'S' model Just my bias.
What I wouldn't do is the 'tweener'. Yes, you could get a low-mile 08 or so. But 'the law of the excluded middle' should compel you to go with appealing finances or appealing features. Not a compromise.

Don't know where you are located, but in Florida (where the economy is about as bad as anywhere in the Country) it appears that the used market pricing has rebounded 10%+ from what it was Dec. - Feb. This is subjective and I don't know if the cars are actually selling. I like Verde's thinking (above), but if you can pick up a new 08 $90k "S" in the low 70's it might be a much more attractive package than a 15-20k mileage 06 or 07 at, say, $59,000. - and I don't think the decent 05's are going to be given away either.

As for buying an '05-'07, I'd pay 10k not to have 20k miles worth of wear and tear on my "new" car. I'd buy an '08 at the current discounts. IMO, the 997.2 "upgrades" aren't worth 20k, especially considering that the new engine has no reliability data yet. You could put less than 1/2 that 20k premium in Mods on an '08 and end up with 385hp at least.

yup - that is true, used pricing has certainly rebounded a bit given the thawing of the credit market and the general equity market rebound. however, seems dealer deals are increasing as they try to get rid of 08s and start to realize 2010s are right around the corner. seems you could get a ridiculous deal on an 09 or a absolute STEAL on an 08 as the 2010s start getting ordered/allocated and dealers look at their bloated inventory levels.
