I found an 09 C2S PDK that I like but am not sure about what the PASM option is.
The car has this option and I dont know if this is a positive or negative.
Please advise whether this is an option that is beneficial.......thanks very much

Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). The system is designed to offer 911 operators the choice of "two distinct driving personalities at the touch of a button." By pressing this button, located on the center console, the system switches from "PASM Normal" to "PASM Sport," lowering the car by 0.39 inch and incorporating firmer damper control.

PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) allows you to select a "stiffer" shock value amd lowers the car 10mm; it's standard on the C2S and a $2,000. option on the C2. So, if the option is listed, you are either looking at a C2 or your are looking at a C2S with the PASM sports suspension Package ($950) option -- this one gives you 2 selections and 20mm lowering and the big thing: a LSD (limited slip differential). This is a great option that's often overlooked. Respectfully, if you don't know this stuff read the sales lit and keep asking questions before you drop $100k+.
Firstly if the car is an 997'S' then PASM is a standard feature. It's an active suspension feature that is capable of 'dynamically' dampening the suspension based on inputs from devices (accellerameters) that sense the manner in which the car is being driven.
If you're tracking or racing it might not be be a desirable feature since it takes some of the 'feel' out of the drivers hands. You can turn it off/on or put it into 'Sport' mode for a 'stiffer suspension' and I think a 10mm drop in height. PASM for the average driver is a 'good thing'.
See this U Tube link for a fairly good explaination.

For years Porsche owners have questioned why not include a limited slip differential on the 997S like they do with the Gt3 . This option has it and its a plus .
If you want a better opinion you might ask forum member Mdrums . He has it on his current 997.2 S and has driven it for a long enough time to have good insight.
