can centercaps come out without taking off wheels?

can centercaps come out without taking off wheels?

need to take the center caps to get them painted. do i have to take the wheels off or can they come out with the wheels being off the car

Yes... They can, if you've got the kind with two little holes just find something small to get in there and pop them out, if not you can CAREFULLY pry them out from the side, however if you are the least bit uncomfortable doing this then better safe than sorry and just spend the time to take off the wheel and push them out from the back. It's a small step that will keep both the wheels and caps from getting beat up. Be sure and post pics after you get them painted!

thanks, i was about to pull the wheels when i saw the 2 little holes and wanted to know if that was for pulling the caps off.

i will be putting the caps on the gt3 wheels. look for pics in about a week

i copied this tool out of a wire hanger and it worked perfectly.

i used a pair of small allen keys to remove mine through the holes

thanks guys, i used a piece of wire and pulled them out enough to get a flat head in there.

now off to get these buggers painted.



i put the center caps on the new wheels and they look kind of cool. but its all getting painted dark silver

Are those the center caps that suncoast says match the turbo wheels. I thought about getting those, but I wondered how well they would match.

no, they are the stock units off of my 06 S that i will use in my gt3 wheels. i took them off the s wheels to paint match to the gt3's

I vote for getting some black Porsche center cap and keep the current wheel look. You'll get used to the silver strip. I got the silver strip on my Techart and they look good.

hmmm, i already bought the paint monday. my painter friend is telling me the same thing, only he is suggesting i use the new paint to paint the lobsters and keep the black as is. why does it have to be this hard

i know something is going to get painted tomorrow, just have to figure out which

Hi Bara,

paint the lobster dark silver, it will look very unique.

keep the GT3 wheels as is, it looks good and unique now with the silver strip, and will sell for a good price if you want to.

just my 2 cents.
