Carpet on doors...

Carpet on doors under arm rest...WHY? Seems like there should be an alternative covering. Anyone seen anything else? Carbon? Leather?

Carpet on doors has been there since at least 993 era. Old skool!

I am sure that the carpet can be replaced by matching leather or other materials by a competent body shop. It is only a matter of price.

I think it's there to serve as an occasional kick-plate. Easy to clean, no scuffing. A smooth surface would scuff easily.

That is correct..on my black interior, I think it looks great, and is a smart bit of interior design...
