I need some advice and honesty. I am going to buy either an 09 Cayman S or 06 997S within the next month. Currently I have a Boxster S with IMS problem. Which of these two would you buy and why? I will put 10 to 15 k a year on the car. Track the car about 4 weekends a year. I like speed. I like the looks and power of the 3.8 and hope that RMS and IMS problems were somewhat solved by 06. I know they had a redesign in May of 05. The Cayman S has less power, better handling and a new warranty and the direct injection engine. I go back and forth. Your advice would be most heplful. I am looking at low mileage 997 cars with 10 to 20k. Thanks!

 

I rented a Cayman S last year in Germany, it was the 987.1 version, however it wasway underpowered compared to the 997.1 C2S. Even adding a 30 hp, would not make this car as much fun to drive as the C2S.
