Did I sell too cheap?

Totally agree with you, on all points. Only thing I question is what other car, at virtually any price is more fun, cool and iconic? Truth is, the only way to find something better is to radically change your financial status so that you can treat your supercar the way you treat your Porsche. It really is the only supercar you can drive every day.
My car is similarly ('05, 37k miles, bose, no chrono, no nav), and I've been told $45k is about right.
There is nothing on the road that I'd rather have than a 997, so I've gone from trading cars every 6-12 months to realizing that I'll have this one for a long time. And at a certain point, there's no value in selling it; I may have this when it becomes a classic and I can get those cool ANTIQUE plates for it. At that point, if I keep it as immaculate as I have thus far, it should begin to appreciate. But of course, by then, I'd have had it for 30 years and I'd never sell it. When I die, my son can have it.
Point is: no sense in selling it, since you won't get enough to get into anything nearly as fun, cool, or iconic. I'm holding on to mine. If I need/ want another car, I'll lease one, but I won't let go of this one.

Well, it's gone now. Was a sad day, but nice to have the cash - most of you know I've been trying to sell for a while. Wondering how long it will take for me to go crazy just driving my truck. Probably have to throw a S2K in there to carry me over the summer....

Imagine my feeling when I looked to trade my '03 E46 M3 in on an '05 C2S and they told me my car with 36k miles was worth only $17K! What fun can you have for $17k like an M3? Holy crap this Porsche adventure is going to be expensive! I'd rather get the good deal on the expensive Porsche though and suffer on my cheap M3. Obviously this guy had no interest in reselling - it would have went straight out wholesale...
