3.8 litre 997 s IMS reports?

I had searched the archives and have only had reference to RMS on a 3.8 litre engine. Has anyone heard of any IMS failure on this 997 s engine?

The shaft and bearing were redesigned for 2006 production. I can't say there has never been a failure however it is not a burning issue afaik. My question here is when in the 06 model year this was implemented. Whether all 06's are upgraded or the part went in sometime early during the 06 run depends on who you believe. A knowledgable mechanic can look and tell you if there is any question.

RMS leaks are somewhat common while IMS problems are extremely few. In fact I have not heard of a single on this forum with a 06+
