2007 335i to 2005 997 Carrera
Just tossing in my layman opinion
BMW's are verynice cars and do what they are supposed to do (except when they have run flat tires that destroy their ride) but whatever a BMW is--it aint a Porsche. Who knows, you may be a guy who prefers all the relative 'quiet' of a BMW and all the sounds inside a Porsche may not be your idea of what you want...but on the other hand... the Porsche may get into your blood and reach into your senses in ways no other can can or has before... I was a BMW guy as so may here were ... and after not too long, I think you will pull anchor on your feelings and beliefs about any other machine... and be one of the converted... these cars may not be silent inside and they have their 'sounds and noises' inside... I am probably as '****' and neurotic as a driver can be in terms of interior noise, etc... but when I got my C2S... it was like, who *****%ng cares??? Listen to the engine. Drive the car. various little BS can be addressed at service intervals, if they even matter to you by then...
I think all of us here did not buy the Porsche for the interiors, since cars costing 1/4 the price have nicer interiors. These are driver's car after all.
The thought of a M3 did cross my mind while I was shopping for my Porsche. A test drive in a 997 quickly buried that thought.
