If an 09' PDK Boxster S wants to race...
Been married for 36 years, don't wear ties and was wondering why everyone was looking at me at the last wedding I went to.
I just thought they were jealous of my Dicky Do shirt.
Not to dis the owners - it's a great car - but as a sales guy said to me recently in talking about 911s, "No one ever grew up dreaming that they'd one day own a Cayman."

I love how the PDKers always have to defend "it's not an automatic". If my wife, mom, or grandma can drive it from point A to point B, then in their opinion it's a AUTOMATIC. So who cares? If you like it, then drive the automatic PDK. It's a sophisticated automatic at that, but bottom line...it can practically be driven by almost anyone. The same can't be said for a 6 speed. Yeah, the PDK's faster...but it's not all about "faster", otherwise I'd be driving a GT-R instead. It's all about the 6 speed feel and nostalgia. If you like the PDK then all power to you all... I don't see why it needs to be defended all the time. It just won't get the same respect...period. Just like the 997S won't get the same respect as a turbo or GT3, or a Cayman compared to a 911, etc. Some things just won't change, so there's no point in trying to change the perceptions...

you're kidding yourself if you think what others think is of no consequence.
have you never tried to impress a girl or your friends? would you take a bath every day if you were the only one living in the US? do you wear a tie because its comfortable? did you attend your wedding wearing a tank top? you get the point...
ok, its a fancy auto. no stick shift = auto to me

Car and driver loved it too. They compared it to a C6 Corvette, Audi TTS and BMW Z4 sDrive35i, and it came out on top. It was the most expensive by a good margin too.
They had it at 4.3 0-60.
I agree - that's a great sports car. I'd love to have one.

Finishing order:
Porsche (0-60 = 4.3, 70-0 = 155', skidpad = 0.94)
BMW (0-60 = 4.8, 70-0 = 161', skidpad = 0.83)
Audi (0-60 = 5.6, 70-0 = 160', skidpad = 0.93
Chevrolet (0-60 = 4.3, skidpad = 0.83)
