Yep!

Alcantara is used in performance cars because it's grippy. It helps to keep your butt in the seat and your hands from slipping on the wheel.

As the Alcantra starts to wear from use it will fray. If this fraying is not cut back it will continue to get worse at an increasing rate. The frays are longer so they grip more so they fray more etc. etc. etc.

The sweater shaver cuts these strands back and keeps the steering wheel / seats looking new....
