does anybody know if such part exists? I saw one for 996 online but it does not seem to look like it will fit 997. or will it?

General idea is to have some nice storage bin for glasses or phone instead of ashtray. Anyone did that?

 

It won't fit!

The 996 had the 'delete' ashtray option but Porsche never carried it over to the 997 product. I had the option my old 986 which was exactly the same as the 996.

 

There is a "no smoking" symbol lighter plug you can get, but I like the LED Flashlight - handy - and the rest of the space(ashtray) I use for small storage.

 

I seem to recall that the 'non smoking' plug wouldn't fit in the 997 ashtray compartment receptacle. The flange on it is too big.
