997.2..maybe??? is on a distinguished road
Another "is it a good deal question"

I've been looking around for either a 2007/2008 C2S (tip) or 2009 C2 (pdk). So after reading all the info on this forum, I'm leaning towards the 2009 model. One offer that I received is for a:
2009 C2 Midnight blue with beige interior
Options:
541 - Seat Ventilation
345 - Heated Steering Wheel
250 - Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
870 - Universal Audio Interface
810 - Floor Mats in Interior Color
693 - 6-Disc CD/DVD Changer
635 - Parking Assist System
P15 - Pwr Comfort Seats w/Driver Mem
446 - Wheel Caps with Colored Crest
405 - 19" Carrera Classic Wheel
342 - Heated Front Seats
267 - Self Dimming Mirrors
24951 - Deviating Carpet
619 - Bluetooth Phone Interface

MSRP - $90,660 - current dealership is offering 15% off, making the price to be $77K
What do you guys think? Thanks.

Yes, 15% off on a new 2009 is a great offer. That's exactly what I was able to negoiate on my 2009 Turbo Cab, I doubt you'll get much better than that. Jump on it.

Seems that some have done the miracle 20% off on '09 PDK's. I'd push 'em for that. I've read about those deals- I can't imagine the dealers actually make money selling the cars for that much. Nevertheless, it seems that deals have been cut for that much. My comment seems to get ignored, but keep in mind this is quite nearly a year old car. The '10's will be delivered soon, so you're basically looking at a car that will have one year's depreciation the moment you roll it off the lot.

you could likely do another 2-3% -2010s are right around the corner and there are a ton of 09s around. dealers may not make much money at this price but at least they're not carrying the inventory as the 2010s arrive. i think dealers this time around are much more willing to take offers at close to cost on 09s...they got burned real bad with the 08 inventory sitting on lots forever.

A late model 09 has some attractiveness when it comes time to sell and has more warranty than the earlier deliveries yet wil be priced lower than a 2010 . Even the 07's are holding the 50's and modest optioned 09's can pull the upper 70's . Can't beat this . That's why I bought one.

This big sale won't go on forever . When production dimishes and thse 09's are sold the price will go up . This is the time to buy.

I was offered a 99K car at 79 and it was an "S" . It was not even from the same dealership where I bought my car so thse deals are everywhere . A C2 is aharder car to negotiate on because as an entry level 911 it snags a few Cayman buyers and C2S bargain hunters but in this market my advice is to pin down an S and start calling dealerships . Insist on 20 percent and try and close BEFORE the end of the month . You have limited days left but that is still enough time.

I too would try for an S but believe me ,when December rolls around there will still be dealers with '09's in their inventory...so don't be in so much of a rush!

The 09's which will be left in December will be the cars that no one wanted . Porsche released a lot of cars with crappy option combinations. PDK with no chrono . All the performance features but with heavy comfort seats. To boot they also released new colors that did not sweep buyer sentiment . I don't see anyone screaming for joy with cream or green and a Macadamia launch car Targa with PDK and no chrono? Blech !!!

Even now the selection is limited . This is the time .

You raise some good points here. I have been spending a lot of time googling the Porsche web site and I am seeing the number of 2009's with a good set of options shrink. I can also see the number of 2010's beginning to creep up.

The tricky part for Porsche will be that there wasn't any big upgrade from 2009 to 2010, except for the X51 powerkit. So a 2009 compared to a 2010 isn't too different for a buyer today. On the other hand, sales will freeze up pretty quick if Porsche isn't careful with their 2010 pricing.

This is going to be pretty interesting.

And congrats on your new ride!

Thank you.
I speculate that they will cut production before they cut price. Lower numbes will amount to higher demand and also allow cost cutting on building them. In short --they will meet the demand of a slowing economy.

But what if the economy improves with an up tick and less Porsches are built ? Yikes!!!! Prices could soar.

To buy a 100K car for 80? Now is the time . That's my theory and I am sticking to it.

Do not settle for less than 17-20% off. As the summer months come to an end I see another "buyer's window" in late October and on when the 10's roll around and the 08's and 09's start looking long in the tooth on those lots. The used car market for well optioned Porsches is red hot right now. The same cannot be said about new Porsches. Don't panic, if you can wait around a couple of months you'll be able to get some sweet deals. Porsche just had its worst month in a long time and with million dollar plus homes continuing to go into foreclosure, a new toy P-car is the last thing on people's minds. As Mr Miagi aptly stated: "Patience Daniel son."
