Post track brake job at RS1
Post track brake job at RS1
So after a full day of abuse on the track during the Braman Motorcars event at PBIR last weekend, it was time to replace the pads on our 997.2's massive 380mm Brembos.
Here she is on the lift all ready:

This gives you a good idea of just how MASSIVE the 380mm Brembos are:

Old vs. New:

All done and ready to hit the track again!

Overall, it's a VERY easy job. Total time to change both sets of front pads is about 30 minutes tops. We completed the job with a complete flush and fluid refresh to make sure she's ready for action at the next event.
I can't say enough about just amazing these brakes are. The stopping power is truly unbelievable! Feel free to ask any questions.
p.s. boring post, I know...but it's Friday.

What's the story with the 997.2 being a "closed caliper" design? Does that make it more difficult?
Edit: Wait, I see you those aren't the OEM brakes. Open caliper there, I assume?
With those massive Brembos, did you need to upgrade the master cylinder at all?

There was no need to upgrade the master cylinder. The Brembos are designed to work hand in hand with the existing brake system in the car. You really have to drive the car to feel how amazing they are.
I am envious of those brakes! Even the stock Red S brakes on my 09 C2S are awesome but I can only imagine how much deeper I could drive into a corner at Sebring with those massive Brembo's
You'll have to take it out for a few laps.
