Transponder Mounting
Transponder Mounting
As some of you native to the NE area will undoubtably know, to get from any one place to another in any kind of hurry requires the use of toll roads, most notably the pike. You will also then know that using the "tickets" or paying cash is about as fast as watching the grass grow, in the winter, in the dark. You are therefor forced to get one of these silly transponders and mount them on your windshield (thereby adding a wart to your car) or keep it handy and hold it up when ever you pass one of the numerous booths.
Has anyone else found a solution besides the window or the holding method? I was thinking, if it can go through a piece of glass with a UV coating at the top, why wouldn't it be able to go through a thin piece of aluminum, namely the hood. Has anyone tried mounting a transponder to the top of the hood in the front? Does the signal reach? Too low to the ground? I was going to try it myself, but I figured I'd save myself the ticket and the time if someone else had experiences with it already.
