Pedals in leased car
Pedals in leased car
Hi all,
I have a 2008 997 4S that is on lease that I may or may not buy at the end. Ive been attending more and more PCA Club DE events and love the cars, events and most importantly driving. I am tempting to catch the bug and modify things as I have in the past with Land Rovers, however I think leaving the thing stock until I my driving capablilites are up to par is the wisest decision (plus its leased!) However, I am having troubles learning heal / toe rpm matching in this car. I can do in Mini Cooper with pedals closer. So after all that ranting...
1. Are the stock pedals as you see them covers?
2. Can I drill thru whatever is underneath install Rennline pedals, then replace covers at end of lease? Will dealer screw me?
3. Or the best question, can any of you heel / toe using the ankle roll method on stock pedals easily?
Thanks for any input / help.
Kaan.

Hey Kaan,
stock clutch and brake pedals are covered by rubber covers that come on and off easily. For the stock dead and gas pedals, you just drill into them and screw the aftermarket ones on. if you decide to return to stock, just replace the stock covers (clutch and brake) and remove the aftermarket dead and gas (the holes left by the screws are barely noticeable).
I have A.W.E. pedals. One slight issue is that the long clutch pedal gouged the carpet but I love the way they spice up the interior. I roll my right foot to "heal/toe". If I had to do it again, I'd probably get Rennline peds with extension (wonder if they can be fitted to my AWE's...hmmm)

I have the Rennline pedal set and the installation is the same, so removing them is no big deal. I have the extensions on top and bottom of the gas pedal and I have been very happy with them.
