As per the OP's initial question: did anyone get around to trying the Top Flight Front plate bracket? If not, I'll probably be the guinea pig for this experiment. I've used it on two Vettes, and it's a good solution for that car.

I bought mine from somebody who already had the Porsche bracket drilled and mounted. It made my decision easy. This idea sounds like the perfect alternative to always worrying about getting pulled over.

+1 on the tow hook. Easy to remove when you wash as well.

I've been driving a long time in Texas and was pulled over for the first time last week - DPS trooper was more interested in the clear maker lights not being amber reflectors (??) than the no plate. Issued me a "do nothing" warning for no plate and no amber reflectors. Not sure what will happen if there's a second offense...but I'm still not changing anything.

Me too. Got pulled in my Cobra about 5 months ago. Those warnings are visible in the "system" for quite a while. I have a job that worked closely with them so they tend to graciously let me get by speeding etc. However, TX clarified that law recently and said the farthest point forward, IE bumper, is where the plate has to be. I've noticed more people in the past few months saying they've been pulled for it. We'll see.

The decrease in tolerance by LE is is directly in proportion to the amt of the emptiness of the coffers of City Hall, or the state.

I'm guessing you used the vinyl foam type for its weather durability. Do you know what thickness you used? And how's your plate holding up nowadays? Thanks!

Yes! I read that tip in this forum. I used JB Weld to bond the plate to the inside of a nice chrome "Carrera" holder which I then bent to match the curve of the nose of the car. The plate/holder is just wide enough to bridge the gap between the faux intake in the center down low. I think it took 2 layers of tape to make it fit flush.

It has been there for 3 months and is firmly attached. Thanks for the tip.

I have had my NSX for 3 years, and that same license plate has been there the whole time with no problems. The tape is the 3/4 inch 3M brand double sided type found at any auto parts store. It has been exceptionally durable: 2 trips to Miami, several impromptu races, and countless trips to the car wash with absolutely no issues. I would recommend it to anyone.

Fwiw.
I took the standard 997.1 front plate bracket and mounted strong industrial 2 sidedtape and wedged it in center of front bumper inlet. It's been on for 9 months, through rain and high speed runs. It sits flush with front bumper
