"Limit Exceeded" Message?

I just picked up my '06 C2S and I'm getting a "Limit Exceeded" message on the screen every time I first back the car out of the driveway. It only happens on the initial movement of the car and not after any subsequent stops. I thought this warning was only if you set a limit (say 80 mph) as a reminder to try to keep your speed under a certain number. I scrolled through the display menu to where you'd set a speed and didn't see that anything had been set. Anyone know how to eliminate this? Thanks in advance!

Damn, how fast were you backing up? Just kidding - I have no idea other than maybe a sensor is dirty/bad.

Is it coming up if you drive the car forward, or only backward? Just wondering?

read the manual - you can do it in the menu - to set those speed 'limits'.

There are two types of speed limits. One is set through left lever next to signal light level in steering wheel column via the On-Board Computer (page 100 in owner's manual). Then there are three other speed limits you can set via the PCM Trip Computer (PCM manual page 110).

Check both of these, I bet one of them is set to a negative value.

Thanks...I'll have to look into it. It happens both forward and reverse, and only after an initial start-up. Bizarre.
