cleaning the mirrors on a newly delivered car

cleaning the mirrors on a newly delivered car
There seems to be a coating of something spotty and slightly multicolored on the side mirrors of my 09 C2. I have self dimming. I wonder if this is cosmolene residue from shipping? It hasn't come off with car wash or window cleaner.

Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions?

I had the same problem on my new CS2. The dealer replaced them while I waited. Took 5 min. I have no idea what causes this problem.
